Welcome to Morocco! In this program, students will tour the city of Marrakesh, starting with exploring Bahia Palace in the medina, the city's old quarter, and wandering through a lively and crowded souk to browse among all the fantastic items for sale: dates, carpets and even pet iquanas! Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Morocco, including how serving mint tea is a symbol of hospitality. After visiting the Koutoubia Mosque, students will dance to the mystic rhythms of Gnawa music and then take in the sights and sounds of Djemma el-Fna Square. DVD, 13 minutes, English Language Track.
